Greater New York Councils Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts were joined by NYC Girl Scouts, active members of the NAVY, and even got some help from the FDNY, when they cleaned the Eternal Light Flagstaff to prepare it for the opening ceremony of the 2015 Veterans Day Parade
What an extraordinary way to kick off summer! Nearly 500 individuals came together to #FishBrooklyn thanks to FLW and Zebco. Scouts, siblings, neighbors, and families participated in a spectacular #HookedOnScouting Fishing Derby and learned some tips from Pros Tom Redington and Grae Buck.
Working with the Cradle of Liberty Council and funded by the John Templeton Foundation, Dr. Richard M. Lerner and his team at Tufts University surveyed nearly 1,800 Cub Scouts and nearly 400 non-Scouts to better understand character development of Scouts. After a two-and-a-half-year period, the study proved Scouting builds positive character and prepares young people for life.

The World Championship Pinewood Derby is hosted by the Greater New York Councils, Boy Scouts of America and provides an opportunity for Cub Scouts from across the nation to visit Times Square to race their peers.
